SHERLOCK may be a genius when it comes to solving crimes, but he appears totally baffled by some shocking baby news in a teaser for the new season.
The hit crime show returns to TV in January, and viewers have been given their first glimpse ahead of the high-anticipated season premiere.
In scenes for series four, Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) is seen wrinkling his nose in disgust as he gets close to a newborn.
He is standing with his crime-fighting partner Watson (Martin Freeman) and wife Mary (Amanda Abbington).
Watson is cradling the infant, and it has been revealed that the good doctor and his wife have become first-time parents.

The show is set to return on New Year's Day with an episode titled The Six Thatchers, which will be part of a three-episode run.
The teaser also gives fans their first look at acting veteran Toby Jones, who is joining the cast as infamous Holmes villain Culverton Smith.
Rumours also suggest that the other Holmes brother — Sherrinford — might pay a visit to Baker Street in the new series.
